The UTSA Roadrunners football program represents the University of Texas at San Antonio. They are a relatively new program that started in 2011, but they have been a competitive team on the rise. Jeff Taylor, in 2022, was beginning his third season as the head coach had his squad sporting a 25-9 record under his direction. The coaching tree has been strong, too, as Larry Coker, who had won the 2001 national championship as head coach of the Miami Hurricanes, was the first sideline boss in 2011.
There are even former Roadrunners that played in the NFL such as:
- Marcus Davenport OLB
- Riq Woolen CB
- Spencer Buford OG
- Leroy Watson IV OT
- Eric Banks DE
- Kevin Strong DE
This is an exciting program to keep an eye on as they grow!
